Deutsch: Das Hakenkreuz (Zeitung). Erste Ausgabe vom April 1924
English: Das Hakenkreuz ('The Swastika') first issue from April 1924. Das Hakenkreuz ('The Swastika') was an anti-Semitic, fascist, and National Socialist monthly newspaper published in Vienna from 1924 to 1928, subtitled Journal for Ethnic Politics, Economy, and Culture (German: Zeitschrift für völkische Politik, Wirtschaft und Kultur), featuring a swastika symbol radiating in all directions. The publisher was the Austrian National Socialist and admirer of Adolf Hitler, Richard Suchenwirth (1896–1965). From 1927, the newspaper renamed itself National Socialist Monthly Journals with the subtitle Journal for National Socialist Weltanschauung. From then on, the editor was the NS politician Leo Haubenberger. The issues contained only text and omitted photographs. The originals and digital copies are held in the Austrian National Library. |
