| Description |
English: Dartford Heath. It may look undisturbed, and is effectively common land now, but the presence of several overgrown concrete roads on this part of the heath is a reminder of previous use as a site for Anti Aircraft guns in WW2. Dave Larcombe of Tiverton recalls a high wire fence around it and concrete ammo bunkers within, in the 1950s. Most of the site disappeared when they built the A2 bypass. |
