Description
Deutsch: Leibgardistendenkmal in Darmstadt, Friedensplatzː Der Sandsteinsockel des in eine Nische vor der nördlichen Schloßmauer eingefügten Denkmals verjüngt sich nach oben und trägt einen tödlich verwundeten Löwen, der sich mit letzter Kraft aufbäumt. Den Bronze-Löwen gestaltete 1928 Heinrich Jobst. Das Denkmal wurde zu Ehren der Gefallenen und Vermissten des Leibgarde-Infanterie-Regiment (1. Großherzoglich Hessisches) Nr. 115 aufgestellt. Der Sockel zeigt Ausschnitte aus dem Gefechtskalender des Regiments.
