This appeared in May 2014. In May 2012 the drawing "Slave Labour" was stencilled by the school of Banksy on the side wall of Poundland, near the junction with High Road, Wood Green. In February 2013 it was removed and eventually sold at auction. § Google Street view in July 2012 showing the stencil. It then had a plastic covering. § The Wikipedia version of the original events. § Discussion thread on Harringay Online local community website. § Banksy's Slave Labour mural auctioned in London. BBC news website 3 June 2013. § Labour championing Banksy? It's a betrayal of party values. Guardian article by Jonathan Jones 27 February 2013. He writes that: "It seems the party sees art through a lens of crass populism and media stunts – which is what Banksy amounts to – and wants to be the champion of street art, which needs no champions." |
