| Description | The Clock Tower in Darjeeling marks the downtown area and is the starting point for most of the exploration around town. The area around the clock tower is called 'Chowrasta', which translates roughly as Four Roads. One road climbs steeply upwards to the left of where I am standing on which stand several of Darjeeling's iconic business establishments. Chowrasta is also the main taxi jeep station for travel outside Darjeeling. (May 2009) |
