Deutsch: Schema der zyklischen Parthenogenese beim Grossen Wasserfloh (Daphnia magna), einem Krebstier. Organismen, die sich nach dieser Art der Fortpflanzung richten, können zwischen sexueller und parthenogenetischer Fortpflanzung wechseln. Während der Parthenogenese, entwickeln sich die asexuellen, diploiden Embryonen völlig im Brutraum adulter Weibchen und werden dann direkt in die Umwelt freigesetzt. Für die sexuelle Fortpflanzung werden parthenogenetische Männchen produziert, die dann die haploiden Eier sexueller Weibchen befruchten. Diese Eier werden in eine harte, widerstandsfähigen Hülle gelegt und können mehrere Jahre in einem Ruhezustand, der Diapause, verweilen. |
