Description

Baseball card of Danny Murphy, Philadelphia Athletics. T205 Gold Borders set. reverse

"Danny" Murphy, outfielder of the Philadelphia Athletics, has been playing professional ball for a long time, having commenced when only eighteen, and is still going strong. He has been with the Athletics since 1902, playing second base till 1908, and doing it well, but he had to make way for the rapidly rising Collins, and to keep his big bat in the line-up he was shifted to the outfield. Danny kept right on fielding well and slugging when at bat, having made 84 two-baggers, 39 three-baggers, and 16 home runs in the last three years.
