Description
English: Mayor Daniel J. Shields (left) of Johnstown, Pennsylvania, talks with his attorney, Samuel A. King, during hearings held by the Subcommittee Investigating Violations of Free Speech and the Rights of Labor, Committee on Education and Labor, U.S. Senate, in Washington, D.C., in the United States Mayor Shields told the committee he had destroyed records concerning the payment of approximately 500 special officers sworn in during the Little Steel strike of spring and summer 1937.
