and Eliza-beth ( ) Page; she had kept a small store on Middle (now Hanover) Street and had in her household her orphan nieceHannah Gammell, born about 1753, daughter of William andAnna (Page) Gammell; this second wife of Joseph Shed died inBoston 10 Sept. 1769, leaving no issue and bequeathing both herproperty and her husband to her said niece. Whereupon Joseph Shed married for his third wife, 10 Oct. 1770,the said Hannah Gammell, niece of his second wife, she being thenabout seventeen years of age and he thirty-eight; she had fourchildren and after a married life of thirty years died suddenlyin Boston 14 Apr. 1801. He ventured a fourth time into matrimony, 16 Aug. 1801, withMrs. Elizabeth (Flagg) (Robinson) Martin, born in 1754,who died in Cambridge 13 Dec. 1830 but was buried beside herlast husband in the Granary Burial Ground in Boston; no childrenby this marriage. Children by first wife, born in Boston, and baptized in the NewSouth Church: i. Joseph6, bapt. 21 Apr. 1754; d. young.
