Description

This letter was written by Daniel Roberts to his mother and sisters while he was stationed in Vicksburg, Mississippi with Company K of the 8th Indiana Infantry Regiment. He discusses a burial for one of his comrades who died of dysentery, the siege of Jackson, Mississippi and tearing up the Mississippi central railroad, his hopes for furlough, and his thoughts on the next movements for his regiment.
