Description Am 4. März 1193 verstarb Saladin, der Gründer der Ayubiden Dynastie von Ägypten aus. Nach dem Sieg bei Hattin (4. Juli 1187) konnte er Jerusalem am 2. Oktober 1187 von den Kreuzfahrern erobern. Seine Gegner Richard Löwenherz und Friedrich I. Barbarossa respektierten ihn als Ritter. 1898 renoviert zum Besuch Kaiser Wilhelm II., der auch den leeren) Steinsarkophag stiftete.
