Title
damaged sword bayonet
Description
English: Late Post Medieval to Modern damaged sword bayonet with a brass handle and iron blade. The 'beak' of the pommel area is of typical, but not exclusively, French design for sword bayonets of the period. Probably a French Chassepot M1866 "yataghan" or possibly a Remington M1869 or similar sword bayonet. The blade is almost entirely lost to rust and there is corrosion on the guard and elements of the hilt. Dates to between c1850 and c1918 AD.

The length is 178mm, the width 104mm, and the thickness 30mm.
