Description A damaged U.S. Navy Curtiss SB2C-4E Helldiver of Bombing Squadron 87 (VB-87) takes the barrier aboard the aircraft carrier USS Ticonderoga (CV-14) during operations off Japan in July-August 1945. Notice that the rear-seat gunner has already begun to make his way out of the cockpit. The aircraft's pilot was P.E. Johnson.
