Summary

[edit]
Description After one has cleared the shops, one aproaches the main temple, which is the tall one in the centre. The temple, hopelessly overcrowded as most temples in India are, is set in a very large compound. Located on the bank of the Ganges, north of Belur Math in Kolkata, the temple is dedicated to a variant of Goddess Kali and is a spacious temple covering an area of about 25 acres.(May 2009)
