Summary
[edit]DescriptionDaisy Gold Mine (head of Fluorspar Canyon & Perlite Canyon, near Beatty, Nevada, USA) 4.jpg |
English: This open-pit mine intersected fluorite-rich rocks (click on the photo once or twice to zoom in - notice the purplish-colored material on the left side of the pit).
I think this is the Daisy Gold Mine, as seen in December 2001. No unambiguous information or map specifies the site as such. I've encountered contradictory information and have seen no close-up field shots. Many mines occur in this area. I don't know what's so tough about putting a X on a spot on a map and labelling it "Xxxxxx Mine". Locality: Daisy Gold Mine (apparently) (view from Secret Pass), head of Perlite Canyon & Fluorspar Canyon, just northwest of Meiklejohn Peak, 7 air-kilometers east-southeast of the town of Beatty, southern Nye County, southern Nevada, USA (36° 53' 18.77" North latitude, 116° 40’ 57.29" West longitude) (= E1/2 Section 14, T12S, R47E) |
