Description
English: Silver plated with a copper alloy core, contemporary copy of a denarius of Septimius Severus minted AD 193-211.

Copying RIC 82, minted in Rome 197. This coin was minted to commemorate the emperors provision of public spectacles, hence the elephant on the reverse.
