DUR-61B482 : Microburin : Mesolithic
Description
English: A complete chert microburin of Mesolithic date (9000-3450 BC). The lithic is sub-ovate in plan and concavo-convex in section. The dorsal surface has three predominant negative scars with corresponding arrises. The distal end tapers to a point along the right hand edge. There is fine semi-abrupt retouch along the right hand edge. The ventral surface is smooth and slightly concave. The lithic retains no cortex.

The chert is light brown and grey in colour. The lithic is a tertiary flake.

Length: 11.98mm, Width: 15.89mm, Thickness: 3.57mm, Weight: 0.7g.
