Title
DUR-56CE52 : Microburin : Mesolithic
Description
English: A complete flint burin of Late Mesolithic date (6300-4300 BC). The lithic is sub-triangular. The dorsal surface is convex and contains three predominant negative scars with corresponding arrises and evidence of hinged flake removal at the proximal end. Both the proximal and distal ends have been abruptly blunted, the distal end having a small projecting point situated on the left hand edge. The distal, left and right hand edges have a small amount of semi-abrupt retouch. The ventral surface is concave with a small bulb of percussion situated at the proximal end.

The flit grey in colour with cream inclusions throughout. The lithic retains no cortex and is therefore a tertiary flake.
