Title
DUR-56B9A1 : Microburin : Mesolithic
Description
English: A complete chert burin of Mesolithic date (6300-4300 BC). The lithic is sub-rectangular. The dorsal surface is convex and contains three predominant negative scars with corresponding arrises. Both the proximal and distal ends have been abruptly blunted, the distal end having a small projecting point situated on the left hand edge. The left and right hand edges have a small amount of semi-abrupt retouch. The ventral surface is slightly concave with a small bulb of percussion situated at the proximal end.

The chert is cream in colour. The lithic retains no cortex and is therefore a tertiary flake.
