IL FORTE NELLA NEBBIA

Il presunto passaggio segreto tra i Forti Sperone (sulla vetta del Monte Peralto) e Diamante (quest’ultimo a 667 metri) è un altro arcano affascinante, a tutt’oggi sulla bocca di chiunque, ma di cui non si riesce a venire a capo. Precisiamo subito che il passaggio non esiste: l’equivoco è nato quando la notizia fu pubblicata in un libro dedicato ai Forti genovesi. L’autore infatti, n totale buona fede, fraintese le informazioni che un Anonimo del 1818 riportava appunto sul Forte Sperone. Precisiamo che attraverso il Forte Sperone nel 1818 transitava l’unica strada che immetteva al Forte Diamante (sia il Puin sia i Due Fratelli in quel periodo erano appena stati cominciati), la quale usciva da una poterna tuttora esistente lato Polcevera: “Sulla costa del monte il baluardo che forma l’angolo superiore ossia vertice sommo del gran recinto è fatto a forma di sperone di antica nave … assai elevato è … in sulla cresta del monte, da cui si esce per una porta secreta di comunicazione col Diamante”. La “porta secreta” quindi non è altro che la Poterna.
