PLEASE, no multi invitations, glitters or self promotion in your comments, THEY WILL BE DELETED. My photos are FREE for anyone to use, just give me credit and it would be nice if you let me know, thanks - NONE OF MY PICTURES ARE HDR. Behind the trees is another Martello Tower (red roof) called Fort Frederick at the Royal military College. Fort Frederick was the most heavily defended of Kingston's Martello towers. The top level held three 32 pounder guns, each with a range of about 1800 meters. Construction of the tower was finished in 1847, but advances in military technology made the fort obsolete within a few years. |
