Title
DEV-BB4AF7 civil war sword
Description
English: Postmedieval mortuary hilted sword dating to around 1650 AD. The sword is Mazansky type I*Gi. The marks on the sword blade read 'Andrea' on one side and 'Ferrara' on the other (misspelled). Andrea Ferrara was a famous sword maker in the 16th century, and during the 16th and 17th centuries, many swords were stamped with his name (although not necessarily by him) as a mark of good quality.
