Deutsch: Das Wappen wurde am 10. Mai 1939 durch den Oberpräsidenten der preußischen Provinz Westfalen verliehen. Die Industriekulisse symbolisiert die Eisen- und Stahlindustrie, der Wellenbalken steht für die Flüsse Sieg und Ferndorfbach und die Kopfweide steht redend für den Ortsnamen.
English: The arms of Weidenau were granted on May 10, 1939. The iron factories and -industry is symbolised by the factory in the upper part of the arms. The lower part shows a canting pollard willow "Weide=willow" with eight branches, representing the hamlets. The wavy bar symbolises the Sieg and Ferndorfbach rivers. |
