Deutsch: Der goldene Adler ist die Minderung des Wappens der Grafen von Andechs-Dießen (ein Löwe über einem Adler), die in der Geschichte des bayerischen Oberlandes bis Mitte des 13. Jahrhunderts eine bedeutende Rolle spielten. Die Andechser waren Stifter der Klöster Andechs und Dießen; beide führten die Wappentiere der Stifterfamilie, Löwe und Adler, im Wappen und waren für Utting als Ortsherrschaften von besonderer Bedeutung. Kaiser Ludwig der Bayer verlieh dem Augustinerchorherrenstift Dießen 1330 das Patronatsrecht über die Pfarrkirche Utting, die seit 1453 dorthin inkorporiert war. Im Spätmittelalter (1356 und 1410) wird Utting sogar als Markt bezeichnet. Bei der Neugründung des Benediktinerklosters zum Heiligen Berg (Andechs) 1458 kam Utting als Hofmark an das Kloster und verblieb dort bis zur Säkularisation 1803. Dem Kloster Andechs unterstand ein Großteil der Anwesen auch in der Grundherrschaft. Fisch und Wasserwellen symbolisieren die Lage der Gemeinde am Ammersee und reden zugleich für den Namenszusatz, der seit Oktober 1953 geführt wird. Der blaue Fisch hat die Form des bekannten Ammerseefisches, des Zanders, und erinnert auch daran, dass die Fischerei seit dem Mittelalter der wichtigste Erwerbszweig der Bevölkerung war. |
