Deutsch: Blasonierung: Das Roxeler Wappen weist eine Dreiteilung auf; vorn im ersten Feld der Kirchturm von St. Pantaleon in Rot auf goldenem (gelben) Grund. Hinten geteilt von Rot und Schwarz, im roten Felde einen schwarzen Pferdekopf mit gelbem (goldenem) Zaum und unten in Schwarz ein weißer (silberner) geflügelter Barsch.
Bedeutung: Die Kirche St. Pantaleon steht für das Zentrum Roxels. Die Pferdekopf gibt die Bedeutung des Ortsnamens Roxel (Rokeslere bzw. Rukeslare) was soviel bedeutet wie Rappenhürde, -pferch oder –koppel. Der gepflügelte Barsch stammt aus dem Wappen der Droste zu Hülshoff, deren berühmte Namensträgerin Annette in Roxel geboren wurde und deren Stammsitz „Schloss Hülshoff“ früher zum Kirchspiel Roxel gehörte. |
