Deutsch: Das Wappen wurde am 6. Februar 1954 vom Mainzer Innenministerium genehmigt. Die Rauten symbolisieren die ehemalige Zugehörigkeit zur bayerischen Kurpfalz, die Farben Silber und Rot stehen für die Herren von Ochsenstein, die im 14. und 15. Jahrhundert die Lehnsherrschaft ausübten und die Armbrust entstammt dem Kloster Eußerthal, das seit 1311 Patronsherr war. Der Ring geht zurück auf das örtliche Gerichtssiegel aus dem Jahr 1746.
English: The arms were granted in 1954. The lozengy field symbolise the former belonging to Electoral Palatinate The colours gules and Argent are derived from the arms of the Lords of Ochsenstein, rulers in the 14th and 15th century, the crossbow is derived from the arms of the monastary Eußerthal, Lordpatron since 1311. The ring is derived from a seal from 1746. |
