Object history
Deutsch: Die heutige Gemeinde Mühlingen ist durch Vereinigung von Gallmannsweil, Mainwangen, Mühlingen, Schwackenreute und Zoznegg in den Jahren 1974/75 entstanden. Alle diese Orte führten bis dahin eigene Wappen, deren Motive ins neue Gemeindewappen übernommen wurden. Das Mühlrad bildete das „redende" Wappenbild der ehemaligen Gemeinde Mühlingen und behält diese Bedeutung für die namensgleiche neue Gemeinde bei. Dreiberg und Tanne befanden sich im Wappen von Gallmannsweil. Die übrigen Ortsteile, bis 1803/06 unter der Landeshoheit der Landgrafschaft Nellenburg, führten in ihren Wappen neben anderen Symbolen die blauen Hirschstangen der Landgrafschaft. Wappen und Flagge wurden am 15. August 1983 vom Landratsamt Konstanz verliehen.
