Deutsch: Das von Gustav Adolf Cloß entworfene Wappen wurde am 11. Oktober 1935 vom preußischen Staatsministerium genehmigt. Die Seerosenblätter (heraldisch Seebläter) stammen gleichermaßen vom Wappen der Stadt Freren sowie der Grafschaft Tecklenburg. Freren kam 1867 von Tecklenburg zu Lingen. Der Anker entstammt dem Wappen der Niedergrafschaft Lingen. |
