Description
English: The arms were granted on August 12, 1947. The arms show parts of the arms of the main cities; Wesel (a weasel, canting) and Rees (key). The wavy bar represents the river Rhine.
Deutsch: In Rot geteilt durch einen silbernen (weißen) Wellenbalken, oben ein silberner (weißer) Wiesel und unten ein silberner (weißer) Schlüssel, dessen Bart nach rechts zeigt. Das Wappen zeigt Teile aus den Wappen der wichtigsten Städte des ehemaligen Kreises, Wesel (Wiesel), dem Kreissitz und Rees (Schlüssel) der Namensgeberin. Der Wellenbalken steht für den Rhein.
