Deutsch: Dem Ursprung des Wappens wurde vom Heimat- und Geschichtsverein Glauburg in den 1980er Jahren des vorigen Jahrhunderts auf den Grund gegangen und näher erforscht:
Unser heutiges Wappen geht auf ein Siegel der Reichsburg Glauburg aus dem Jahre 1247 zurück. Das Siegel ist einer Urkunde angefügt, in der die Burgmannen der Reichsburg Glauburg eine Schenkung des „Godebold von Düdelsheim“ an das Kloster Arnsburg bestätigen. Das Siegel der Reichsburg Glauburg zeigt eine Burg mit zwei durch einen Zinnbogen verbundenen Türmen, aus deren Tor das Brustbild des Kaisers mit Schwert und Zepter hervorschaut. Die Umschrift lautet in lateinischer Sprache: „S(igillum) Imp(er) ii sagri castrensium de Gloupurch“, was übersetzt bedeutet: Heiliges Siegel der Reichsburg Glauburg. Seit der Neuordnung der Bundesrepublik Deutschland nach dem Zweiten Weltkrieg führte die ehemalige Gemeinde Glauberg eine stilisierte Abbildung dieses Siegels als Gemeindewappen. Wegen der zentralen historischen Bedeutung des Glaubergs für die umliegenden Gemeinden, war es selbstverständlich, der Tradition zu entsprechen und dieses Wappen auch für die Großgemeinde Glauburg zu wählen. |
