Blazon InfoField | Deutsch: Die Stadt führt ein Wappen, ein Siegel und eine Flagge. „Das Wappen zeigt auf goldenem Grund über einem silbernen Schild mit dem schwarzen Kölner Stiftskreuz den hl. Petrus in blauem Mantel, in der Rechten zwei blaue Schlüssel, in der Linken ein rotes goldbeschlagenes Evangelienbuch haltend, umgeben von 7 Schöffenköpfen.“ Das Stadtwappen hat seinen Ursprung in dem seit 1318 nachgewiesenen Schöffensiegel. Die Köpfe der sieben Schöffen wurden 1605 hinzugefügt. English: „Brühl received city rights in 1285 by the Bishop of Köln. The oldest seal dates from the early 14th century and show the arms of the State of Köln, with St. Peter, holding two keys and a bible as supporter. The heads were added in 1605 and stand for the 7 members of the local council.“ |
