Description
Deutsch: Wappen der ehemaligen Gemeinde Bettendorf seit 1972 Stadtteil von Alsdorf: „Fünfmal geteilt von Schwarz und Gold (Gelb), belegt mit einem links angeschrägten wachsenden roten Hirtenstab mit silberner (weißer) Krümme.“
Das Wappen wurde 1963 durch den nordrhein-westfälischen Innenminister verliehen. Das Gemeindewappen zeigt das Wappen der hiesigen einflussreichen Adelsfamilie Pallandt mit dem Hirtenstab des Heiligen Wendelinus, dem Schutzpatron der Bettendorfer Kirche.
English: „Barry of six sable and Or, charged with a croziers sinister gules issauant with a crook Argent.“
The arms were granted in 1963. They show the arms of the powerful Lords of Pallandt of the County, later Duchy of Jülich. The crozier symbolises the patron saint Wendelin of the village.
