Description
English: „The arms are a combination of the blue bars taken from the arms of the Lords of Amern, known since 1267, and the lion of Jülich, as the area historically belonged to the Counts of Jülich."
Deutsch: „Gespalten in Gold (Gelb) und Silber (Weiß), vorn in Gold (Gelb) ein steigender schwarzer Löwe mit roter Zunge; hinten in Silber (weiß) drei blaue Balken.“ Das Wappen zeigt den Jülicher Löwen als Zeichen der früheren Zugehörigkeit zum Herzogtum Jülich sowie die drei blauen Balken in Silber, die einem Siegel aus dem Jahre 1267 der Herren von Ambere entnommen wurden, die als Gründer von Ober- und Unteramern gelten.
