Description
Deutsch: Portal am Köhlerschen Haus in Dresden, Frauenstraße 14, des Böttchermeisters und Weinhändlers Johannes Köhler. Im reich geschmückten Bildfeld ist der römische Gott Janus dargestellt, doppelgesichtig als Jüngling und als Greis mit Stab, Schlüssel und Krone, als Gott des Anfangs und des Endes oder des Ein- und Ausgangs. Links und rechts von ihm befinden sich Putten, die mit Arbeiten im Weinberg beschäftigt sind. Im rechten Bildfeld (Frühling) wird die Pflege der Weinstöcke (Gießen und Beschneiden) dargestellt. Im linken Feld (Herbst) wird die Weinlese dargestellt. Die Inschrift in der unteren Kartusche lautet: „SUDORE BENEDICTIONE“ (Durch Schweiß und Segen), zitiert nach Stefan Herzig: Das Dresdner Bürgerhaus des Spätbarock 1738–1790, Gesellschaft Historischer Neumarkt Dresden e. V., Dresden 2007, S. 120.
