| Description |
English: DC electric winder, Britannia Colliery Siemens DC winder of 1911. Blacks torque controller contrivance on end of shaft to prevent overspeed and overwind. I've seen a few of those in my time. The classical post brakes are clearly visible. The ropes run in the sheet metal enclosure that keeps dirt out of the engine house. You can see that it's been a very fine building. |
