Summary

[edit]
Description
English: The Van Gundy & Mueller Bldg in Deer Lodge, MT, built in 1887 by brewers Jacob E. Van Gundy and Ernst Mueller to replace their saloon that had burned to the ground that April. They commissioned Butte Architect John R. Roberts to design a building with a cast-iron front, though the facade's design would be pre-determined by the manufacturer, the Mesker Brothers of St. Louis, MO. As seen on the building's pediment, it's original name was the D.L.B.A. (Deer Lodge Brewing Association) Bldg, after Van Gundy & Mueller's brand of beer.
