Title
D-shaped buckle (reverse)
Description
English: A cast copper-alloy single D-shaped buckle with a narrowed and offset bar. The bar terminates on either end with a decorative projection. There are three engraved lines on the centre of the outer edge opposite the bar (on the curve of the D-shape). Traces of a black coating remain on the buckle, suggesting that the entire buckle was once coated black. These buckles are medieval in date c. 1250 - 1500.
