Title
D-shaped buckle
Description
English: Cast copper alloy D-shaped single-loop buckle with a narrowed offset bar which protrudes sightly at both ends and is defined by an incised line between the frame and where the bar ends. The frame is rectangular in section and expanded at its outer edge where there is a single transverse groove across the frame for pin. The pin and the folded sheet plate that would have attached to the bar are now both missing.

Read (1988) illustrates a similar example on page 59, No.243, which is dated from 1350 to 1450.

Whitehead (1996) illustrates similar examples on page 18, Nos.40-41, which are dated from c.1350-1500.
