Français : Présentation du cadeau à la Reine lors des noces d’argent du roi Léopold II de Belgique et de la reine Marie-Henriette, Palais royal (Bruxelles), le 22 août 1878. — Pour les 25 ans de mariage du Roi et de la Reine, les dames belges, désignées par les communes, offrent à la Reine un magnifique diadème, orné de deux mille trois cents pierres précieuses et une traîne en dentelles de Bruxelles. Pour cette occasion, une souscription recueillie en quelques jours avait réuni 100 000 francs. Le diadème et la traîne de dentelles avait été préalablement exposé à l’hôtel de ville du 18 au 21 juillet. À l’occasion des noces d’argents, des fêtes furent célébrées à Bruxelles les 22, 23, 24 et 25 août. Le Roi est en uniforme de lieutenant-général (grande tenue à pied), le comte de Flandre en uniforme de lieutenant-général de la cavalerie (grande tenue à cheval). Deuxième à la droite du Roi, en uniforme civil et portant des lunettes, le bourgmestre de Bruxelles, Jules Anspach. À l’extrême droite, en uniforme civil, on reconnait Walthère Frère-Orban, chef de cabinet depuis le 19 juin 1878. Ils portent tous le ruban de grand cordon de l’ordre de Léopold.
