2184. Full-blown flower of Madame Georges Bruant Rose. Natural size stock is budded on Manetti or Maidens Blush, thoughthe Dog Rose (Rosa canina) and even the Banksiaare often used. Those Roses grown on their own rootsare usually propagated from hardwood cuttings, grownout of doors, and December is usually the best month,though the writer has successfully rooted them fromOctober to March, according to the variety. Rust bothers us but little; likewise scale, though inmany neglected gardens the bush and climbers alikemay be found covered with both the rose scale and the redscale of f,he orange.
