Description
English: A dog watches as a line of Allied soldiers push bicycles through the muddy street of a ruined village. Cycles were commonly used during World War I, both for specialists, such as messengers, but also to move small groups of men quickly.

This image seems rather strange to the modern eye and is another illustration of the huge changes in transport which took place during the war.
