English: Cycling towards Winterings above Gunnerside Gill The extensive lead mining in Swaledale has led to an extensive network of footpaths and, in particular, bridleways, which makes it a bit of a mecca for mountain biking. This is a section of my regular evening ride when I first lived in the area in 1992: from Low Row, up the gill from Surrender bridge, over the top of Melbecks Moor and back along this bridleway above the left bank of Gunnerside Gill. |
