Summary

[edit]
Description
English: BLM Artist-in-Residence Christine Nguyen creates a cyanotype in front of the mule barn at historic Fort Egbert in Eagle, Alaska. A cyanotype is made by treating a piece a surface (usually paper or cloth) with a photosensitive chemical solution and then exposing it ultraviolet light, in this case sunlight. BLM Alaska photo by Collin Cogley. The BLM’s Artist-in-Residence (AiR) Program provides artistic and educational opportunities that promote deeper understanding and dialogue about the natural, cultural, and historic resources on public lands managed by the Bureau of Land Management.
