Summary

[edit]
Description
English: Cwt Gwn at Tan-y-foel Cwt Gwn (=gun hut), now a holiday home, was the place where a life-saving apparatus in the form of mortar was kept. This mortar fired a missile which had a rope attached. This could be aimed at a ship in distress to provide a lifeline for passengers and crew along which (in theory) they could make their escape from a watery grave.
