English: Cwm Doethie Fawr at Ty'n Cornel, Ceredigion The hostel, shown with its freshly rendered north-west gable end, can be seen with its new dual level shed. The old rusty one, partly painted a disgusting bright green, burnt down in 2007. The hostel is still open, 52 weeks of the year, whatever the YHA booking office or the absence of a red triangle on some OS maps might indicate.
The much larger shed beyond belongs to the landowner of all the ground between Blaendoethie and the Doethie Fach this side of the Doethie Fawr. Shearing and pitching took place there on July 13th this year. The felled area on the other side of the river was the Nant Gwernog Plantation, which stretched over the hill and down toward the Afon Pysgotwr Fawr at Nant Gwernog. Felling began in October 2007, and is yet to be completed. |
