| Description | From 1897 to 1983 this steel structure, the light house "Fat Bertha", showed the seafarers the right way on the river Elbe. When it wasn't needed any more authorities wanted to tear it down. But the citizens of the region successfully offered resistance. The building was preserved (primarily by volunteers) and is now a listed monument. |
