English: Cut off dam, Carron Valley Reservoir The Carron Valley Reservoir sits on the east-west watershed. Two dams are needed, as well as one on the Carron itself, but another on the headwaters of the Endrick.
This dam raises the waterlevel above the watershed. There is a similar arrangement further north where Loch Quoich also needs a dam "at the back". |
