Description
Deutsch: Ausgrabungsfeld von Osten. Zwei noch an ihrer Stelle befindliche Säulentrommeln der Ostfront des Zeustempels sind durch Menschen markirt, ebenso ein Capitell; an der Südseite des Tempels erscheinen die in regelmäßiger Reihe gestürzten Säulen (Taf. VI); im Vordergrunde die Reste der späteren, byzantinischen Bauten. Die hohe Mauer rechts („Ostmauer“) steht vielleicht auf den Fundamenten der örtlichen Altismauer. Die runde Basis mit der lakedaemonischen Weiheinschrift, sowie Steine von der Praxiteles- und Atotos-Inschrift (s. Taf. XXXII, 4. 5.) sind durch Menschen hervorgehoben.
