*c Currie's Seed Store, Milwaukee, Wisconsin > BEETS Culture—Where a variety and choice of soil is at command, select that which is rather light for this crop. It must, however, ' oughly enriched. As early in the spring as the ground can be properly cultivated, lay out tin- drills for the seed :il>ut a foot apart. Sow the seed thinly, covering to a depth of 1 inch; when large enough to handle, thin out the plants to about 6 inches apart. The plants pulled up may easily be transplanted elsewhere, avoiding loss. 1 oz. to 100 feet of drill, •re in drills.

Crimson Globe Detroit Dark Red. Edmand's Early. Crosby' Early Egyptian. Early Model. CURRIE'S FIREBALL—A distinct extra early perfectly globe-shaped Beet, with the finest table qualities. The flesh is a brilliant fiery red, fine grained, very solid, crisp and sweet. It has a small tap root, slender leaf stalks and a smooth skin, making it valuable for early frame work, and equally desirable for the open ground. EARLY MODEL—One of the best for first- early crop, combining most of the good qualities of the best early varieties. The midrib when boiled makes delicious greens, nr the leaves may be boiled and served as spin ach. Sown in the spring the leaves are soon ready to eat, and will continue to gi through the summer and fall. (f given a little protection it will survive the winter and make ex- cellent greens early in the spring. One ounce will sow 10(1 feet of drill. LARGE WHITE—Grown extensively for the leaves, which are used the same as spinach, Pkt., 10c; oz., 15c; U lb., 35c; 1 lb., $1.00.
