Summary

[edit]
Description
English: Culross Buildings, King's Cross The Culross Buildings: a tenement block built in 1890 by the Great Northern Railway for its employees and named after Lord Colville of Culross, then chairman of the company. The block was proposed for demolition as part of the King's Cross redevelopment plan, sparking an enormous controversy; campaigners accused the developers of trying to destroy the unique industrial heritage of the area. At present the block stands empty and boarded up, in a dilapidated condition.
